Snakeyes Gaming Corporation

Born on Saturday, March 28th 1998, under the title of Apocalypse Emulation, Snakeyes Gaming Corp. has undergone some very major alterations since its origins have been left behind. In the beginning, SGC, or ApocEmu, was dedicated to the latest and greatest emulators for the NES and SNES systems. Since that time, it has become one of the largest sites for many aspects of emulation, and continues to expand with no end in sight. Here I will highlight many of the important times in the history of SGC:

3/28/1998 - 10:00 PM (give or take) - Apocalypse Emulation goes online. This would later evolve into SGC. See the original layout.

4/1/1998 - News Archive begins here. This is the point at which I began archiving the news updates.

8/23/1998 - Everything went along very slowly for almost 5 months, but at that point I recoded the page from scratch and (using notepad) created the design that you can see here.

9/6/1998 - After months of hard work, the site finally expanded beyond the NES and SNES emulation site as which it began. On this date, Gameboy emulators were added to the site, and we havn't looked back since.

9/24/1998 - On this day ApocEmu expanded beyond the one-man team that had carried it this far. Airety joined the team on this day, and we have since expanded several more times.

11/30/1998 - ApocEmu goes CGI. After a month of teaching myself perl, I created several scripts to handle site updates. While this is a minor point for visitors, it was quite a gift for staff members.

12/24/1998 - The latest revamp of the site. It was on this date that the name Snakeyes Gaming Corporation arose, and ApocEmu faded to the back. It was also when the layout you know today was created by Jandar (in notepad).

11/25/1999 - The translations database was completed, along with a powerful translations search engine. These changes should serve to make the translations archive better than ever before.

6/11/2001 - SGC made another move, this time to its own server. We sacrificed some bandwidth in favor of losing banner ads and restrictions.
