[13:32] <Niiru_> I talked to him yesterday and he was kinda curious as to how he ended up on the thanks list regardless of that. ;)

[13:34] <Demione> the guy's cool, the kind you can't hold a grudge against
[13:35] <Niiru_> Well, I've been asking everyone I interview about SoM2freak, because he's probably one of the people whose name gets the most snickers when it's mentioned anywhere.. What was your experience like working with him?

[13:36] <Demione> he was just your average little jpop kid
[13:37] <Demione> my experience with him was pretty sick, just cuz of how opposite we turned out being, and both of us were stubborn
[13:37] <Demione> i'm sure he turned out fine though.
[13:38] <Demione> i remember the first time he discovered girls.. heh
[13:38] <Demione> he was cutting and pasting urls of jpop singers for everybody
[13:39] <Demione> after that we all knew som2freak a little differently..

[13:39] <Niiru_> I was wondering if you could explain the entire Translation Corporation thing to me. Even though they were working on FF3, they got a not so nice mention in your FF2 faq... What was that all about?
[13:39] <Demione> heh, just running through my shit list one by one, aren't ya
[13:40] <Demione> what was it i was mad at them about?
[13:40] <Niiru_> I've interviewed about 5 people already, so I've got a nice list. =)
[13:40] <Niiru_> Something about degrading the fan translation community or something.
[13:40] <Demione> yeah, basically their work was shit
[13:41] <Demione> too shitty to be pubicizing, definitely too shitty to be bragging about.
[13:43] <Niiru_> From what I've heard, FF2 was basicly almost completly run by you. What role, if any, did you have in the FF3 project?
[13:43] <Demione> i um
[13:43] <Demione> i was the first chump to put a font in the rom, the first night everybody found it
[13:44] <Demione> then it was som2freak for a while, doing his own thing..
[13:44] <Demione> cuz by this time it was some shit between him and me and i didn't really want any part of it
[13:45] <Demione> so then this bloke named alex w. jackson comes on my wwwboard saying he's done some technical work with ff3j, right out of the blue. he was speaking on a level that i knew could really go somewhere with this game, so i swallowed my pride and introduced him to som2freak
[13:45] <Niiru_> Well, that's about all the questions I've got at the moment, so before we wrap the interview up, is there anything you'd like to add?

[13:46] <Demione> the trans scene is horrible anymore
[13:46] <Demione> a bunch of kids with too much hate on their minds
[13:47] <Niiru_> You probably wouldn't be suprised how many people I've interviewed that said something like that.
[13:47] <Demione> getting nearly no recruits, the advertisign is bad.. it's gone nowhere lately
[13:47] <Demione> and the games people are picking are lame
[13:47] <Demione> that about covers it, unless you'd actually like to go into one of those points.
[13:48] <Niiru_> If you'd like to elaborate, it's fine by me.

[13:48] <Demione> the emu community has fads
[13:48] <Demione> back int he day it was NES rom collecting, then translations was it for a while
[13:49] <Demione> when the whole neo geo and mame thing happened, it brought a whole bunch of new faces into the scene, enough to shift it a little
[13:50] <Demione> so now you don't just have new fads, you have a new focus on the fads
[13:50] <Demione> and NES and SNES games really aren't anywhere near this focus anymore..
[13:50] <Demione> if i still cared about the trans scene and actually wanted it to prosper like it did, i'd start getting some of that newskool scene into it
[13:51] <Demione> you can see there are people that are would-be translation sceners in the newskool, they just don't want to have anything to do with you guys because it's not really a thriving scene
[13:51] <Demione> people like the cps2 board callus hackers and such
