Ideas: First Week of January 2000

I have ideas galore. The problem is. . . some of them aren't any good. So before any of them go to the public, I will propose them to all of you. Then you can vote if they are good or bad.
The first idea is a channel for a gathering place for NESticle netplay. In this channel, you could meet people and challenge people to a game of Blades of Steel or some Tecmo Football, or team up to finally beat Contra or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, or like Jandar and I did waste about an hour bashing each other and big buildings in Rampage.
If this were to take off, tournaments could be started. Who's the best player of XYZ game ever? Well you could settle it in netplay, and make a Hall of Champions, displaying that player ABC is the best player of XYZ, with pictures of there victory, a short summary and the date.
I would prefer not using IRC but it seems the best way to do it to me. You could find out your IP using ICQ or various other programs, and state the game you would like to play in the channel. When high speed internet connections are involved, many more than two people can play at once.
As for speed. . Jandar and I have played with me being on a T1 and him having an ISDN connection, with little lag. Granted playing with a 28.8k may be crazy and extremely crazy, but 56.6k shouldn't be all that laggy, and ISDN and above should be fine. I am assuming the speed of the game is limited by the slowest internet connection.
If the public decides they would like to see it happen, somehow we will have to figure out a way to get a common package of roms out to the public. I haven't figured this out yet.
So, I need feedback. What do you think? SGC will adminster this idea if it goes golden, and any people who do this after reading this article will be forever be deemed scum and be flamed for eternity for copying my ideas.
For now, please e-mail me with the subject header mentioning SGC, for sorting purposes.
