Vegetarians

Ripped viciously off its stem
Thrown into a barrel with its brothers,
Bruised and battered.
Its skin peeled away,
Its flesh eaten raw.
What remains of its broken body
Is thrown away.
Left to be eaten by birds and dogs.

If they can do that to an apple,
Why do they cringe at the sight
Of a hamburger?

Hypocritical fools,
Food is food.
