9:28 PM - Halloween - Airety
You know your city is detoriating when their is a bus that brings trick or treaters around to the better neighborhoods.
*sigh*
8:39 AM - RockNES Release - Jandar
Another new version of the NES emulator RockNES has been released, and can be found on the NES Emulators page. The following changes have been made in this release:

11:07 PM - Happy Halloween - Jandar
Well, in some parts of the world..such as here..it's halloween..or at least it will be within the next hour or two. I guess in some places they are doing the trick-or-treating routine tonight, which, I suppose, makes sense because if you eat too much candy on a Saturday it could cause fewer negative effects than eating too much candy on a Sunday and having to go to school the next day. Regardless, in the spirit of the occasion, I did a little work around here, to allow SGC to fit the "mood" a bit better. OK, the colors clash badly..oh well. It's not a permanent thing, and I sort of like the logo that's up temporarily. Just another thanks to XAbbott, the guy who (a while ago actually) did several different SGC logos for us. One of them is the usual logo, which you've probably seen before if you've every stopped by in the past, and another is the one I've edited slightly for the Halloween spirit =). I'm sure I thanked him when I first began using the banner, but I thought I should mention it again. And, once again, happy halloween to many of you.
10:20 PM - MAME Release - Jandar
A new beta release of MAME, the multi-arcade emulator for DOS, has come. I've added the latest binary and the source update files to the MAME section.
10:16 PM - Cross Country and States - Jandar
As of today, the Mentor Cross Country team missed their chance to go to the state meet by one point. I'm quite unhappy.

10:54 PM - Snes9x Mac port Release - Jandar
A few days ago, the MacOS port of Snes9x, the SNES emulator, was updated slightly. The latest release (version 1.2.6b) has been added to the SNES emulators page.

MacMAME, the Mac port of the ever-popular multi-arcade emulator MAME, has been updated to 0.36 beta 7, which brings it up to the level of the DOS and Windows ports of the emulator. I have added the latest version of this emulator, as well as it's source, to the MAME section.
5:03 PM - SD Splatterhouse Translation - Jandar

Version 2.5 beta 3 of Virtual TI, an emulator that supports tons of TI calculators, has been released. The latest version has been added to the TI Calculators emulators page.

11:48 PM - Now for English Translations - Jandar
Now it's time to cover some English translation news. I've added the 99% complete translation of Dezaemon, ala AGTP, to the English Translations page. The news is a bit belated I'm afraid. I've also added information on a few other translation projects from the same group. These are translations that don't currently have patches available but are being actively worked on.
11:33 PM - German Translations - Jandar
Apparently I've been on a translations kick recently. I've added plenty of new German translations patches from the German translations group G-Trans. You can find all of these patches, including a large group of Gameboy game translations that I just added, on the German Translations page.

The MagicEngine homepage has updated to say that the new version of MagicEngine, the TG-16 (PC-Engine) emulator for DOS, is almost ready to go. As far as emulation goes, it's ready, but the user interace needs a bit of work. The next release will probably be in the very near future.

9:52 PM - MAME32 brought up to speed - Jandar
It's been a little while since the latest version of the DOS version of MAME was updated to 0.36 beta 7, but MAME32, the Windows port of MAME, has finally been brought up to equality with the DOS port once again. As soon as I get the files uploaded, you will be able to download the latest version from the MAME32 section.

I'm not sure what's new, and the only change in the version is that it's now version 110309+ instead of just 110309. It can be found on the Gameboy emulators page. 10:29 PM - A bit more about Solar Wars - Jandar
Well, I sat down today and tried out Chris Covell's Solar Wars, and I discovered that it's really a great game. It's certainly the best free NES game developed from scratch. It's a nice piece of work, and really is pretty fun to play. Basically, you have two little tanks and they can move around and they try to shoot each other. It's pretty straightforward, and easy enough to play. But I can tell you from experience that writing NES software that runs at all is not easy work, and making one turn out that well is even harder. Chris Covell did an excellent job on this project.
7:06 AM - Solar Wars Released - Jandar
At long last, Chris Covell has released his NES game, Solar Wars. It's a tank shooter, and at the moment I'm in a rush and don't have a chance to try it out. However, next chance I get, I'll test it out and give you an idea what it's like. For now, you can download it from the Legal ROMs page.

1:40 PM - TuxNES Release - Jandar
A few days ago TuxNES, the NES emulator for Linux, was updated to version 0.72. 10:42 AM - Two MAME Releases - Jandar
Both MacMAME, the Mac port of MAME, and xMAME, the Unix port of MAME, have been updated to version 0.36b6. This brings them up to the level of the DOS and Windows ports. They can be downloaded from the MacOS and Unix MAME pages respectively.

6:09 PM - MGX Release - Jandar
A new version of MGX, the Game Gear emulator for DOS, has been released, and can be found on the Game Gear emulators page. Because all information about the emulator is in Japanese, I don't know what has changed, but the file size is noticably smaller.
5:27 PM - News Script Problems - Jandar
If you visited the page earlier today you noticed a message saying that we were having problem with the news script. I have no idea what the problem was, it may have been related to the recent emulationworld problems, or it may have been entirely unrelated. One way of the other, it seems to have fixed itself. What problems did it cause? I had to rewrite the Game Gear/SMS emulators page and we lost the october news archive and the news from the main page. Fortunately, October has just started, so we really only lost one news post =). That news post basically said that Emulationworld was having some problems in the last day or so and those problems should be fixed by now. That was the extent of our day of troubles here at SGC.
