1:30 - ROMhacking.com up, SGST Announces New Projects... - Patrick Higgins
I wasn't feeling too good this weekend and I neglected updating until I was better. And now I feel great and couldn't be happier to report on some news for you all!

Firstly, ROM Hacking Dot Com is finally back up and running. Although not all the sites have been restored yet. SGST, which was just restored a few minutes ago, announced Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Children Black Book and Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Children Red Book for Game Boy Color as new projects. So far everything is going smooth, scripts dumped and getting translated. Both of these games are in the very popular Megami Tensei series which SGST has grown very fond of since the beginning of their existance.

Warui Toransu just released another patch for Der Langrisser which translates up to scenario 12 now. You can get the patch here and thanks to SGC's former english translations guy Heero_Yuy_ for that bit of news!

A new group going by the name The Full Moon Translation Group has released a preliminary beta patch for Double Moon Densetsu. A very cool RPG similar to Dragon Quest for the NES.

And now for some other small news.

Thats all for now I guess. Once school settles down again expect the english translation archive to be fully up to date finally :P

23:35 - Zsnes Release - Jandar
Version 1.14 of Zsnes has been released for both DOS and Windows. It can be found on the DOS and Windows SNES emulators pages, respectively. Here's what's new:

0:44 - RockNES Release - Jandar
Version 1.600 of RockNES has been released, and we've added it to the NES emulators section. Here goes the rather extensive list of what has changed in this version:

12:05 - A swedish translation... - Scotcher
A swedish translation was released today... the game is Solbrain (translated to english by AGTP). It's available, as always, in our Swedish tranlations archive. And today is my birthday! %YEY!%

0:58 - VisualBoy Release - Jandar
A new release of VisualBoy, a Gameboy emulator for Windows, has come, and I've added version 1.4.7 to the Gameboy emulators section. There is also a DirectX 7 version available. Here's what's new in this release:

0:28 - Musashi Calls It Quits - Patrick Higgins
Musashi of Gaijin Productions recently left a message on the CTC Off Topic Message Board stating that he has left Gaijin Productions probably for good, leaving it in Dave's hands. Here's a an excerpt taken form the post.

"Don't worry, I have no projects in the works, Sweet Home was it. LME3 is dead. I'm sure folks will think I'll come back or something, well fat chance. My Japanese is shot to heck, I don't recall much about romhacking nor do I care too. I don't even play video games anymore. Well, good luck to the rest of you. I'll be around, just less interested all this."

Best of luck to whatever is next in your life Musashi!

You'll also notice if you tried clicking on the links to Gaijin Productions that it pointed to the Pulsar Solutions homepage. ROMhacking.com is currently suffering technical problems and Neil_ is on Spring Break at the moment leaving a big bunch of very popular translation groups screwed. Lets hope this problem is resolved quickly.

If you happened to download the Final Fantasy IV version 3.03 patch on November 20th, go download it again because there was a minor bug fix.

15:37 - YAME? - SirYoink
I recently stumbled across a strange emulator called YAME. It emulates the GB, NES, and TG16. Unfortunately, the documentation and homepage are in Japanese so I can't tell you a whole lot about the emulator's features. The Mac version (.02) seems to have decent compatability. I also uploaded version .23 for windows and .02 for BeOS, which I haven't tested.

1:30 - Hu-Go! News - Jandar
The Hu-Go! homepage has been updated with a little bit of news. They assure everybody that the emulator is still being actively coded, and announce that they have another face to add to the project. Lester Barrow is now an official coder for the Hu-Go emulator. The official post can be found on the Hu-Go! homepage

22:02 - Pretendo is Dead - Jandar
The Pretendo homepage has a very extensive explaination of everything that has happened in the past few years, but the bottom line of the situation is simply that the NES emulator, Pretendo, is dead. The emulator will possibly be developed on a private basis, but don't be expecting to see a public release of it at any point in the near future. The Pretendo site can do a better job of explaining the perspective than I can, so if you are interested in this situation, find the full explaination on the Pretendo site.

2:12 - Lots of News! - Patrick Higgins
Wow, lots of news happened in the last few days so now I think I better pull myself away from playing Actraiser and report on it all :)

J2e Translations have released another bug fix patch for the very popular Final Fantasy IV translation. This new patch fixes hopefully all the little bugs here and there in the ROM. Get the patch right here. Necrosaro also mention that the Lagrange Point translation is now at 50% complete. TomatoSan has translated the entire script and Necrosaro has done most of the romhacking, all that needs to be done now is some script editing and formatting. He has also inserted a very nice looking font made by Toma seen in the screenshot below.

Lagrange Point screenshot | Font made by Toma

Destiny Translations released an alpha patch for Torneco no Daibouken today in celebration for the US release of Torneco no Daibouken 2 for the Playstation. Please remember that this is an alpha patch and thus is very buggy. The script is unedited and there are probably numerous bugs.

The person behind PatchROM, NoProgress, has released a patch for Dragon Quest VI that translates approximately 1/3 of the game. This patch has nothing to do with Dejap Translations, this is just all the stuff that NoProgress did before he teamed up with Dejap.

Lets all thank The Whirlpool for all these updates, except for the J2e one, I found that out on my own :P

0:51 - Are we alive? - Jandar
Testing, 1, 2, 3...I love server downtime..

19:57 - Spanish translations - Bokudono
Added Wai Wai World 2 (0.5%) from Vice Translations.
Added Final Fantasy III (99%) (I can't believe we were still missing this patch) and updated Chrono Trigger (99.5%) and DBZ RPG (99%) from Paladin Knights Translations.
Find these and many more translation patches in the Spanish translations archive.

PS: I'll soon add patches from new groups (Tanero Translations is the only I can remember now).

5:25 - Virtual GameBoy updated - Neil Stevens

Marat Fayzullin has released (I don't know when) version 2.0 of his Virtual GameBoy emulator. I can't comment on its quality, because without source code or an x86/Linux binary, I can't try it.

Other emulators I updated in the Unix section include Stella (binaries added), MasterGear (updated to 1.4), DGen/SDL (1.20), and UAE (0.8.15). I'm not sure of the age of all of these releases; I'm still catching up to speed.

Rest assured, though. One of these days I'll post something new that's actually new.

23:44 - G-NES Release - Jandar
A new version (0.46) of G-NES, an NES emulator for Windows, has been released, and can be found in the NES emulators section. I don't really know what is new in this release, as all information that I could find regarding this emulator was in, apparently, Japanese. For those of you who speak the language, you can find more information on the G-NES homepage.

22:08 - Megami Tensei 2!! - Patrick Higgins
The Megami Tensei II English Translation page updated last night with some very nice looking screenies! Including the excellent title screen work done by none other than Prez. They have also decided to make the highly anticipated demo patch longer, because you can do things later that will affect the dialog where you first started. The demo patch will now translate up until you cross the river and access the rest of the continent! Anyway, everything is done except for a few menus and some script revisions. They estimate that the demo patch will be out in approximately two weeks! Oh, and if your looking for the screenies, my image converter won't let me convert to GIF's without me paying them some money :( So just go to the site to see them in glorious PNG format :P

And now for some other news that I have discovered. J2e Translations have found their beta testers for The Violinist of Hamlin, so don't bother emailing them anymore. Those beta testers are Sheex who is also part of the Megami Tensei II team and Chojin, J2e's very own translator.

The ROM Hacking Workshop released a patch for Hourai Gakuen no Bouken: Tenkousei no Scramble that fixes the corrupt ROM that everyone uses. Satsu also mentioned that he is still working on his "NES game" :)

Oh yeah, and Kakkoii Translations have release yet another patch for Dragonball Z: Gokuden I. Get the patch here.

17:25 - Vice Translations - SirYoink
Kitsune Sniper's translations of Wai Wai 2 (NES, 90%) and Ys III (NES, 5%) have been added to the english translations section. Thanks to Kitsune for pointing out how lazy we are. :P

22:04 - Zsnes Releases - Jandar
A new version of the the DOS and Windows versions of Zsnes has been released, and can be found on the DOS and Windows SNES emulators pages, respectively. The latest version is 1.12 in DOS and Windows. Yay!

13:45 - Swedish translations news - Scotcher
The Translators has realesed a new patch for their swedish Terranigma translations and they have a new member that has translated Bucky O'Hare. I think everybody knows where these patches can be found :P

1:13 - BNSF ported to the Mac - SirYoink
Richard Bannister has ported BNSF to the Mac. Download it here.

1:13 - News Bits - Patrick Higgins
Over the weekend these news bits gathered so I'm reporting them now, sunday night. Thanks goes out to RPGD and the Whirlpool for some of these updates :)

18:08 - Langrisser Stuff - Patrick Higgins
Hiryuu Honyaku released a 60% complete patch for Langrisser 2, the sequel to Warsong for the Genesis. This patch translates the first 9 scenarios. Get the patch here.

The Der Langrisser Translation Page released what I think is about a 50% complete patch today for Der Langrisser. Try out the patch here.

F.H. has updated his Front Mission page. He's added an auto indenter for all the dialog text which looks pretty cool.

Thanks goes out to KLin for two of those updates ^^;

16:30 - AGTP and J2e Update - Patrick Higgins
The AGTP released yet another bug fix for Monstania. You can get it right here. In other AGTP news, Ys IV: Mask Of The Sun is progressing nicely according to Gideon Zhi. Lord Tech inserted a very nice looking Variable Width Font and Mr. Zhi has possibly got the substring compression working!

Anus P of J2e Translations updated today with news regarding The Violinist Of Hamlin. He is making good progress with it and estimates that if everything continues going well a patch will be out by Christmas. He has also announced he has started a design competition to see who can design the best logo for the games translation. It must be 152x62 pixels and have a simple colour scheme. A beta tester is also needed for this translation project. If you think you have what it takes, email Anus P at maxwellb@home.com.

16:00 - MAME32 Release - Jandar
Version 0.37b9 of MAME32 (The Windows port of MAME) has been released, and you can currently find it on the MAME32 homepage. I will add it to our MAME section soon.

15:34 - French MacMAME Release - Jandar
I was thinking today, and I realized that we have a very extensive archive of foreign (non-english) translations patches here on SGC, and yet we havn't really covered much in the way of non-english translations of emulators. It would probably be a good idea to change that. The French version of MacMAME version 0.37b8 has been released, and can currently be found on the MacMAME homepage. I will be posting it in our MAME section as soon as I can.

20:04 - Zsnes Release - Jandar
A new version of Zsnes (both the DOS and Windows ports) has been released, and can be downloaded from the Zsnes homepage. I will upload both versions locally as soon as I get home after work, but for now you can get Zsnes from it's homepage. There have been quite a few changes made in this version, information about which can be found in the documentation for the emulator (for fear of taking up tons of space on our news page ^_^). Yay!

18:36 - 100 World Story And More - Patrick Higgins
Alan Midas has released a more or less complete patch to 100 World Story for the NES! He states that there may be some bugs here and there but it is 100% playable. He also opened his website at http://www.spoony-bard.com/alanmidas/. Grab the patch here!

AGTP just released a bug fix patch for Monstania which fixes a bug, a minor typo, and changes some stuff in the readme. Get the new patch right here.

Densetsu Translations is "out of commision" for now while Sheex fixes all the kinks in his projects and finds devoted people to help/translate his projects. When the site returns, there will most likely be releases to go with it.

2:49 - Monstania is Released! Plus More... - Patrick Higgins
Yesterday the Aeon Genesis Translation Proclamation headed by Gideon Zhi released a 100% complete patch for Monstania, a kick ass Strategy RPG for the Super Famicom. This extremely anticipated translation is not to be missed, so go download it!

In other news, Alan Midas is back and he's going to finish up 100 World Story for the Famicom! He is also in need of some translation help so if you are fluent in japanese please click here and help him out.

Dejap Translations may release another updated beta patch for Tales of Phantasia, but for the mean time they gave us a bunch of nice looking screenshots!

Oh yeah.. Hello, I'm the newest member of SGC. I'm in charge of the english translations and stuff so over the next few days expect the English Translations section of this site to be updated and cleaned up. I look forward to working with everyone here at SGC =)

18:44 - RockNES updated - SirYoink
The Mac version of RockNES has been updated to version 1.500. This version's features are in sync with version 1.500 for the pc, plus it has improved network support and the ability to use Quicktime to fullscreen at 640x480. Get it here or at bannister.org.

22:16 - Nosefart 1.92 - Neil Stevens

It's only fitting that my first update should be a project I work on. Let's just hope I do this right oh this, the third, try.

Nosefart, an NSF player, was updated to version 1.92 a while back. The improvements, as listed on the Nosefart web page, are:

20:20 - AGTP Update - Airety
If I sum it up for you here, you won't go check out Gideon Zhi's website, AGTP Translations, but I'll tell you he has updates on Gundam G, Monstania, Solid Runner, Super Robot Wars 3, Ys IV, Soul Getter, and Sugoro's Quest ++ Dicenics. Go check out AGTP now :)

18:26 - so yeah - Jandar
I'm about at the end of my chain on this one.

23:14 - Snes9x Fix - Jandar
In the recent release of Snes9x, a bug appeared that "broke" SuperFX emulation. A minor update has been released that fixes this bug, and can be currently downloaded from the Snes9x homepage. It fixes SuperFX emulation, and should also now have C4 emulation.

20:55 - SNES9X Mac Updated - SirYoink
The Mac port of SNES9X has been updated to version 1.3.2. New in this version:

Get it at emulation.net or here.

13:50 - Tile Layer Source Code - Jandar
SnowBro has released the source code for his DOS version of Tile Layer, and it's available from his web page. Note that the DOS port hasn't been updated in two years, and work continues on the Windows port, which probably explains why we're seeing a release of the source code. Thanks to Romhacking.com for the news.

13:42 - Snes9x Releases - Jandar
A couple of different ports of Snes9x have been released, and can currently be found on the homepage of Snes9x. Both the Windows and i386 Linux ports have been updated to the latest version of 1.33. I will also have these files uploaded locally here as soon as possible.

13:36 - Nester Release - Jandar
A new beta version of Nester has been released. Beta 3 of this NES emulator for Windows has been released, along with it's source code. Right now the emulator can be found on the Nester homepage until I get home and upload it locally.

17:21 - FF4 v3.02 - SirYoink
J2e released a bugfix update to the translation of FF4J the day after they released it. I just now fixed my internet connection, so I've been able to update it. Go to the english translations page to get the new version.

18:46 - FF4 Translation and free candy*! - SirYoink

J2e Translations has updated their translation of FF4j! The update occured sometime around midnight last night. (about 10 minutes after I quit staying up waiting for it!) Get it there or here.
