21:45 - FCE Ultra .74 - Tempest
The excellent NES emulator FCE Ultra has been updated to version .74. A complete list of changes to the Win9X port can be found here and the emulator can be obtained at the FCE Ultra Homepage.

22:21 - Rapid-fire Gens Update - Tempest
Version 1.60 of the Genesis/Sega CD emulator Gens is now out. The complete list of updates to this version can be found at the Gens homepage. Sega CD emulation has improved to the point that many games are now working perfectly with the emulator, so if you haven't already tried Gens, give it a whirl.

• UPDATE 1/20/2002 : Version 1.60b is out which fixes a small problem that cropped up with the latest version.

21:43 - KEGA Updated - Tempest
Steve Snake's Genesis/Sega CD emulator KEGA has been updated to version 0.01. He hopes to have squashed most of the problems reported with the release of the initial version. More information can be found at the KEGA Homepage

21:29 - WonderSwan Color Section Added - Tempest
I've added a Bandai WonderSwan Color section to our emulator database, which as of now contains two emulators for windows (Cygne and WonderScott). If you know of any more WSC emulators in development, please contact me and let me know.

20:57 - Gens, and a New Contender! - Tempest
Gens, one of the more popular Genesis/Sega CD emulators for Windows has been updated yet again, now up to version 1.56. Here's what's new in this version :

[Sega CD]

• CDD timing emulation fixed.
• CD read improved (better CDDA playback from real CD).
• Perfect Synchro optimized.

[Genesis]

• Fixed VDP write.
• Fixed the infamous TAS bug.

[General]

• Minor bug with auto detection fixed.

Also, there's a new Genesis/Sega CD emulator in town, and it's written by Steve Snake of KGen fame. The emulator, called KEGA, can be found here. Though it's only version 0.00 at the moment, it supposedly already has quite good compatibility with both Genesis and Sega CD games and fleshed-out sound.

18:19 - New NES emulator for the Mac! - SirYoink
MacFC version .4 was released sometime earlier this month. It's a new Famicom emulator for the mac, but I'm not sure what features it has because the site is in Japanese. The emulator has been in our database since it was released, but never made the news page because the server was apparently not "set to go". :P

18:16 - Gens updated, SGC updated! Coincidence, I think not! - SirYoink
Gens, a Sega Genesis emulator for windows, has been updated to version 1.52.
