22:51 - Record of Lodoss War Release! - Heero_Yuy_
That's right, Lina`chan, Nuku-Nuku & Filia's Translation Domain (pauses to take a breath) has released version 0.90 of their Record of Lodoss War translation! This is a beta patch, and everything is done except for the battle menu and status menu. Enjoy! =)

22:07 - DirectEd v.995 - Heero_Yuy_
Our friend (wraith), maintainer at The Whirlpool has released version .995 of his tile editor, DirectEd. It's an excellent tile editor along the lines of SnowBro's Tile Layer, in that it allows you to open two ROMs at once and copy data between them using a clipboard function. It's a darn good app, so pick it up here, and visit the DirectEd Homepage for more information and future updates. DirectEd was made with the DirectX 7 SDK, so it of course requires DirectX 7 or above to be installed on your computer.

18:23 - Help Wanted at ETG! - Heero_Yuy_
Eidolon of the Eidolon Translation Group needs your help. His group is working on Surging Aura, a truly awesome game for the Megadrive that is based on the same engine as Phantasy Star IV. He finally has a translator for it (Snake), but progress will be very slow unless he gets some help from people who would be willing to extract the japanese script from the game, send it to the translator, then reinsert the english text. Having another fluent translator probably wouldn't hurt, either. If you think you can help, check out the details at Eidolon's Inn.

Apparently a bug had crept into the DOS port of Zsnes with it's last release, and a small update has been made to fix the bug. Version 1.17b is now available from our SNES emulators section. It fixes that bug and also allows you to start netplay from the command line. More information about this is available from the Zsnes homepage.

Version 0.36 of SwNES has been released, and I've added it to our NES emulators section. You can get all the stuff from our NES emulators section.

I've brought all our ports of FCE Ultra up to date. The DOS, Windows, and Linux ports have been updated in our sections, some of which were quite a ways behind. The following versions are now available:

9:21 - BrMSX Discontinuation/Windows Port - Jandar
Apparently the DOS version of BrMSX has been discontinued, but it will be replaced with a new project which is a Windows version of BrMSX. We will hopefully see this port arrive at some point in the near future. The latest version of the DOS port can be found in our MSX emulators section.

5:11 - OpenSPC for aRts - Neil Stevens

I said I'd manage to post some new news. I guess the only way I'm going to manage it is to make some news happen myself!

On that note, I'd like to announce something, an SGC exclusive: I've ported the SPC player OpenSPC to use aRts, the sound system for KDE. Download it! There is a homepage for the port, if you're interested in that sort of thing.

That's right! You heard it here first!

1:36 - VICE Release - Jandar
The many various ports of the VICE emulator (A C64 emulator for many different platforms) have been updated to version 1.6, and I am currently in the process of attempting to update the many different sections which contain different ports of this emulator. I fear, however, that sleep may overtake me before I can complete the task. If this happens, I will complete the update tomorrow morning, and let you know when it is finished. Until then you can download the latest version from the VICE homepage.

1:33 - Nester Update - Jandar
The Nester homepage has moved to a new location at http://www.nester-emu.com/. Also, I've added beta 3 of the emulator to our NES emulators section.

1:28 - Gens Release - Jandar
I've updated our Genesis emulators section to include the very latest release of Gens, a Genesis emulator for Windows. Also note that the Gens homepage has changed from the one that was previously listed within our site. The latest version of this emulator is version 0.92b, which basically fixes a bug in version 0.92, so here's what was new in version 0.92:

20:54 - Raine Release - Jandar
An unofficial version of the Raine emulator was released quite some time ago, and I've added it to our Raine section. It was actually released a far back as 9/24 but we just added it today. We really need to catch up on a lot of fun stuff..but hopefully we can see that happen in the near future here. Fear not!

16:48 - Open Call to Translators! - Heero_Yuy_
Emulationworld may have been a little on the fritz lately, but thankfully I'm able to update now ^_^.

17:06 - Random Bolts From The Blue - Heero_Yuy_
It's been kinda slow lately, news-wise (go figure, Jandar hasn't been around that much =P). But here are a few things happening in The Scene :

And on a completely unrelated note, yesterday I downloaded the demo of Oni, and I think it flat-out rocks =). Check it out if you have a high-bandwidth connection, or eternal patience and a 28.8 line, like me ;).

17:20 - Spanish Translations - Bokudono
Added some patches by Tanero Translations, a recently formed group. To see the 20+ listing, go to the search engine.

2:05 - Joy Mech Fight Translation - Jandar
Alan Midas has released a 100% complete translation of an NES game by the name of Joy Mech Fighter. You can download the translation patch here. This translation really seemed to come out of nowhere..I had never even heard about the game until today. Thanks to our very own Heero_Yuy_ for letting me know about this release, after the patch returned a 404 when he was first trying to make the update =). Yay!

Good stuff abound...

13:16 - RockNES 1.6 Mac Release - SirYoink
RockNES for the Mac has been updated to version 1.6. Here's what Richard Bannister has updated in this release:

6:43 - Swedish translation news - Scotcher
The Translators has released some patches. They've translated DuckTales, Zelda 1 (yes, they translated Zelda 1 again. Wich I think is stupid..a group translating a game, 2 times...) and Shadow Warrior, all for the NES. And they've realeased a 30% patch for Pokémon Blue. All these patches are available in our swedish translations archive.

12:42 - Hu-Go! Release - Jandar
The DOS version of Hu-Go!, a Turbo Grafx 16 emulator, has been updated as of the 5th of this month. The latest version, 1.99, is available from our TG-16 emulators section. Life is joyous!

23:00 - RockNES X Release - Jandar
A new version of the RockNES Windows port has been released, and I've added it to the NES emulators section. Here's what's new in version 1.61:

22:33 - Super Chinese Fighter Extreme! - Patrick Higgins
Some Good Shit Translations released a 99% complete patch today for Super Chinese Fighter Extreme, a cool little fighter for the Game Boy Color. The only thing missing in the patch are the credits, but their is a text file included in the zip that translates them. In other SGST news, they have announced the following projects:

All these can be viewed in greater detail, along with screenshots, at the newly redesigned projects page at SGST.

They also mentioned that the Megami Tensei II demo patch will be slightly delayed, but should be released by the time this week is over.

13:52 - Langrisser 2 Update! - Heero_Yuy_
Commander Stab of Hiryuu Honyaku posted a news update today about Langrisser 2. His estimate puts the project at about 78%. Translation of scenarios 20-25 is practically finished, all that remains is minor editing of those scenarios, and translation of scenarios 10, 26, and all four secret scenarios. If the translator, Picorat, keeps up this pace, we should see a 100% release quite soon, so keep your eye on their page for more updates.

1:08 - Rantou Hen Released! - Patrick Higgins
Ice Translations released a 99% completed patch for Rantou Hen for Game Boy. All that needs to be done are the credits. Rantou Hen is one of those cool Technos games that Iceman seems to like a lot. Grab the patch here!

Dave from Gaijin Productions announced today on the CTC Board that he has started working on Magical Chase for the Game Boy Color. He also provided some screenshots of some preliminary work:

22:16 - I'm back! - Heero_Yuy_
After a long period of frustration with some nasty computer problems, I'm finally back at SGC! Some of you will recognize me as the former English Translations maintainer from a while ago. Since Patrick Higgins has taken those reins (and is doing an excellent job with them, from what I've seen so far), I'm freed up to do other miscellaneous things, but I will still help with whatever news happens to pop up. Enough about me, I have some news to post :

1:34 - Virtual Gameboy 2.0 - SirYoink
