What for? Well, The Rocket needs staff, right now it has 0 staff members because I'd rather do other stuff ^^ but a Chu Chu Rocket site is necessary. I have been starting to get some recognition in other fields under the "smurf" name chu-chu-rocket, and will be able to leverage that name to bring fans to The Rocket if somebody steps up to take over! Naturally, SGC will host it and make sure there is a prominent link to you.
Also, I am going to try and do a lot more stuff out of the ordinary, I will not be doing as much updates but if my brain functions properly, you will feel my presence in other ways.
Don't quote me on that though, it might change depending how I feel when I wake up tommorow morning. If you want to apply for The Rocket, E-mail me.

We still have a long ways to go before a complete translation is released, but this is another milestone for us to cross. Big day for translation news, eh?- FH has updated his page. Up until today, an older version of his lodos war document had been labeled as the new version. FH corrected that mistake and also updated the Alcahest page with the news that the project is proceeding rather well. The password system has been just about figured out, as has the dialogue pointers. A modified dumper was made to make a 'cleaner' script, and now the inserter needs to me modified as such. :)
- The AGTP page has been updated with the news that a celebration for their one year birthday is being planned. Releases are scheduled. =) For those of you who wish to mark your calendar, the date of the 'party' is March 7th, 2000.
- Kueller of Dragoon-X has updated his page with info that Dragoon-X is alive and well again and projects are moving along. Fire Bird v1.01 should be out soon according to him, and work on Hanjuku Heroes has restarted with a new translator. Their RS3 project has almost all of the armors/spells/items/etc done, and they're currently working on the last of that pesky 8x8 text. Sounds promising!
- And last but surely not least, Satsu has updated his page with the info that 'Hourai Gakuen is still chugging along just fine.'

3:50 PM - DBZ X-Lation Patch Releases - Neil_
Two groups have released patches for two of the countless DBZ games out there. :P

- A group calling itself DragonBallZ translations has released a patch for Dragon Ball Z 3: Ressen Jinzou Ningen. The patch is a continuation of Omniverse's patch, and makes use of pointer modifications and 'squished tiles' for a professional look.
Thanks to RPGd for the news.

9:51 PM - Gens Release - Jandar
I'm still trying to figure out exactly what happened here. The version number of Gens, a Genesis emulator, seems to have degressed a bit, and it appears that a Windows port has actually been introduced. Strangely, however, it seems to have been superimposed over the DOS port and the version number decreased. Well anyway, version 0.141 of Gens has been added to the Genesis emulators page.
9:42 PM - MacMAME Release - Jandar
The MacOS port of MAME has been updated to version 0.36 beta 16, which brings it up to speed with the DOS port of the same emulator. The latest version of the emulator, along with the latest source code, can now be located in the MAME section. What's new? What's new you ask?
- In sync with DOS beta 16. [Aaron Giles]
- New Glide plugin. [Brad Oliver]
- Added pause/unpause calls to the plugin API. [Brad Oliver]
- Rewrote debugger window code to make it more system friendly. [John Butler]

8:52 AM - RockNES location/update - Jandar
Anybody attempting to visit the RockNES homepage recently had to realize that it seemed to have vanished from the face of the earth. The homepage has moved to a new location at http://rocknes.emuviews.com/ and they have posted some screenshots from the upcoming version 1.0 release.

5:14 PM - News Bits: Lets see if I can flood the page. ;) - Neil_
- Musashi of Gaijin Productions has handed over the hacking aspect of his Holy Umbrella - Dondera's Wild project to Six Feet Under of Suicidal Translations. Musashi will aparently still be handleing the translation aspect of the project.
- Hiryuu Honyaku, a group that had been working on Treasure Hunter G has moved, and aparently dropped Treasure Hunter G in favor of Front Mission. Their Front Mission project is currently as .001% according to their page.
- Emulatory, a group that I'm not sure if I posted on because I haven't posted in nearly a week and my mind is a giant sieve, has two current projects, which again I'm not sure if I posted about, Captain Tsubasa 4 (~10% complete) and Dragon Ball Z: Goku Den 2(~.001% complete (table is almost done. ;))).
- WakdHacks WPJ translation project is currently speeding along. Currently 40% of the text has been inserted. This is definately a project to keep an eye on as a release seems eminant.
- Prez has posted a screenshot of a title screen hack he implemented for his SD Gundamn Knight 2. It looks rather cool IMO, although he wants yours. So head on over there and let him know what you think of it.
- Dinesquick posted a defunct link a week or so ago to a screenshot from a game. Well, he fixed the link, and now we know that it's Romancing Saga 2, and that it shows some lovely VWF work on his part.
- The Prisoner's have reported that Dinesquick has cracked the compression in Madara 2, and a dumper is currently in the works.
- Word from YnT on their Bahamut Lagoon project. A script inserter has been written and the compression seems to be taken care of, however space may become a problem in the future since the current inserter only allows them to insert a script of the same size as the original script.
- RPGd is reporting that two groups have sprung up and are now working on DBZ projects. Kakkoii Translations is currently working on Dragonball Z: Gokuden 1, while DragonballZ Translations is working on Dragon Ball Z 3: Ressen Jinzou Ningen, Dragon Ball Z Gaiden: Saiyajin Zetsumetsu Keikaku and Dragon Ball Z 2: Gekishen Furi-za. The DBZ2 project is a continuation of Omniverse's project.

This bit of news seems to be somewhat belated, as some sites were reporting about it several days ago. However, I never did manage to find any information on this release on the Famtasia homepage, so I was somewhat hesistant. I've decided to add version 5.1b2 of Famtasia to the NES emulators page.
