11:53 - Zsnes and Pilotwings - Jandar
Based on what I see on the Zsnes site, I'm guessing that Pilotwings is becoming playable in the near future. They posted some screen shots of Pilotwings running well and included the following caption:
11:43 - RockNES Progress - Jandar
The RockNES homepage has been updated with a progress report on the emulator. Here is what they had to say about netplay and 3d support:

21:30 - Wai Wai 2! - Tempest
It's complete! Kitsune Sniper of Vice Translations recently completed his work on this funny little NES game. He's added a title screen hack among other things. Pick up the patch here and enjoy!

15:55 - DW Overworld Ed. Alpha - Tempest
Yay! Sometime late yesterday, Dwedit made a post on our message board with news of an Alpha release of his Dragon Warrior X Overworld Editor. This program enables you to edit the overworld maps of Dragon Warrior 2, 3, and 4, as well as the locations of things such as towns and caves in DW2. Give it a try, and let Dwedit know what you think!
8:23 - LazyNES Release - Jandar
Release 9 of LazyNES, an NES emulator for Windows, has been released, and can currently be downloaded from the LazyNES homepage. Here's what's new in this recent release:

11:53 - SMS+ .9.4 - SirYoink
SMS+, Richard Bannister's Sega Master System/Game Gear emulator for Macintosh, has been updated to version .9.4. This release now works under MacOS X. As a result, it is also now incompatable with the 680X0 series Macs which were released around the same time as the Ark. The new version sports 16 bit video and no less than 50 different blitter modes. Get it here.

16:43 - Spanish translations - Bokudono
Added SNES translations of Harvest Moon, Joe & Mac and The death and return of Superman by Tanero Translations to the Spanish translation archive.

8:41 - RockNESX Status Report - Jandar
According to a message posted recently on the RockNES homepage, the Windows port (RockNESX) is going to be "updated soon, featuring 3D-hardware support (blit), fixed inputs, kick-ass GUI, sound with no lag, and own netplay for TCP/IP, IPX, serial cable and modem." And since this message was originally posted on the 18th, we could possibly be seeing this release very soon.

19:00 - SNES9X Mac bugs? - SirYoink
In an update of emulation.net, John Stiles reports that SNES9X may not work properly under the final release of MacOS X. He says this will be corrected in the next release, which should be soon.
16:07 - Gideon Zhi Declared "The Bomb" - Tempest
Because he's released a full english patch for Sylvan Tale for the Game Gear! Kudos to MO, who translated the entire script, and Shih Tzu who edited and cleaned it up afterwards. As always, the patch can also be found in our English Translations Archive. Another notable thing is that today is also Gideon Zhi's birthday! Happy 20th, man. =)

21:47 - EmuSphere Boom - Jandar
It look as though, after more than two years of life, Emulation Sphere is calling it quits. Adrox, Skates, and Vivek posted their goodbyes earlier today, and apparently this is the end. EmuSphere is a site that I have visited regularly over the years, and it's a shame to see it go. I'm not going to go into the political side of recent events, but I will wish luck to the EmuSphere team, and bid the site farewell.
8:32 - TuxNES Release - Jandar
Version 0.75 of TuxNES has been released, at least in the form of source code, and has been added to our NES emulators section. Here's what's new:

17:41 - Ninkue 0.1 - Tempest
SGST has released version 0.1 of the Game Gear game Ninkue. All that's done so far is the intro, the intro, and... the intro. But grab the patch anyways, from our English Translations Archive or by clicking right here.
1:58 - RockNES updated! - SirYoink
The Mac port of RockNES has been updated to version 1.830. What's new in this version includes several new video modes, and it is now carbonized for MacOS X. If you are not using MacOS X, you will need CarbonLib, which is available for download from Apple. I'll post it here as soon as I figure out a place for it. ^^
Thanks to Mac Emuscene for the news.

20:26 - 300k Hit - Airety Thanks!
You know the deal, send a staff member a screenshot of the page with the counter reading 300,000 to one of the staff members please :)

16:59 - FCE Ultra Release - Jandar
Version 0.53 of FCE Ultra has been released, and I've added it to our NES emulators section. Oh, this is just the Windows port that has been updated, but the Linux SVGAlib port is expected to follow in a few days. Here's what's new in this release:
16:52 - G-NES Release - Jandar
Version 0.515b of G-NES has been released in both Japanese and English versions. I'm not sure exactly what is new in this version, as the web page for this emulator is in Japanese, and the readme file included with the english version does not list these changes. I have added both of these files to our NES emulators section.

10:39 - VirtualNES released! - SirYoink
VirtualNES is a new NES emulator still in beta stages. The documentation is in Japanese, so I didn't have a whole lot of information on it. I was surprised to discover that it seems fairly compatible, has scalable video, sound in most games, controller setup, preliminary FDS support, and a few bells & whistles. Try version .01beta here.
2:06 - Connectix going crazy? - SirYoink
Rather than coding a new version of Virtual Gamestation before their agreement with Sony takes effect, Connectix has focused their talented programmers on something sure to benefit everyone... and I am not making this up... porting VirtualPC to Windows! Check out the press release. What use does running a copy of Win98 in a WinME window have? Maybe some strange networking use or not having to reboot if Windows crashes as a program instead of the OS? Who knows!? Imagine the possibilities! You could get a Win95 bluescreen of death under 98! Anyone adventurous enough to try it can get the full preview version here. The preview is a full version, but expires July 1, 2001.

21:23 - Gens updated! - SirYoink
Gens, a Windows Genesis/32x emulator, has been updated to version .98. This new version features the following:
I'm almost ashamed to admit where I got this news, but it's the right thing to do.

15:53 - MAME Release - Jandar
Version 0.37 beta 14 of MAME has been released, and is available from the MAME homepage. A list of changes present within this version is available from here. Thanks to EmuHQ for the news of the release.

22:14 - TextNES!!! - SirYoink
TextNES, a NES emulator which actually outputs to a text window, has been updated to version v0.1.0! This is the second beta release of TextNES. TextNES is one of my favorite NES emus. Try it, and you'll see why. I'm not kidding about the text window.
2:44 - Generator updated - SirYoink
Generator, a Sega Genesis emulator for the Macintosh, has been updated to version .19. Get it here or at bannister.org. This version is carbonized for MacOS X and requires carbonlib to run on older OS's.

13:38 - LazyNES Release - Jandar
Release 8 of LazyNES is available for download from both our NES emulators section and the LazyNES homepage. Also available is the first release of this emulator's LAN Client. Here's what's new in this version:
8:59 - Zsnes Source Released - Jandar
I'm slightly behind the times on this one, but the Zsnes project has apparently gone open source, and the source code is available from the Zsnes Development Homepage. The latest version of the emulator is version 1.17 for Windows and 1.17b for DOS.
8:42 - Gens Website Relocates - Jandar
The official homepage of Gens, a Genesis emulator for Windows, has moved to:
http://gens.emunewz.com/
This seems, however, to be a temporary domain, as http://www.emunewz.com/ (Better known as EmuSphere) plans to be getting their normal domain back within a week.

22:39 - Now Playing... - Tempest
16:03 - Spanish translation - Bokudono
