17:32 - And the site URL this week is... - SirYoink
My site, Klepto Software, has returned after a month of downtime when romhacking.com closed. The new url is http://klepto.s5.com. Also, a new release of DBZ: Legend of the Super Saiyans is out. The latest SNES patch translates everything up to the end. A final release is expected this Fall.

Everyone's favorite white-haired Mexican (AKA Kitsune Sniper) has updated Vice Translations with news on many of his projects. Most prominently the Dead of the Brain project is set on its way to completion, which, once done, will mark the first completed PC-98 translation! YES! Personally, this auburn-haired American is hoping to see more of these games be translated in the future =). Read the whole update for yourself at Kitsune's site.

Unofficial Nester, which can be downloaded here was updated a few days back and the following changes were made:
9:08 - Delayed Zsnes Stuff - Jandar
Since we're getting a little behind the times around here, I thought I'd also mention a note that showed up on the Zsnes homepage a few days back informing us that "ZSNES 1.31 is coming along nicely." Thank you and have a nice day =).

10:37 - Emulator Archive Status - Jandar
I have gotten the emulator archive script completed, which means us staffers can start adding emulators to the archive. It's far from complete at the moment, in fact there are only two or three emulators in the archive at the moment, but we are making progress and hopefully we should have the emulator archive back up to speed within a matter of days. Anybody interested can find the archive at http://sgc.jandar.net/cgi-bin/emu.pl, but remember there is very little there at the moment.

12:58 - Zsnes Release - Jandar
A new version of Zsnes has been released, and can currently be downloaded from the Zsnes homepage. The latest version is 1.30, and is available for DOS, Windows, and Linux. Here's the good word:

14:20 - Thanks - Airety
Thanks goes to EmuHQ for the delayed news. During our move we didn't really keep up, so some of this news is from a few days ago, and I apoligize.
14:15 - InfoNES - Airety
InfoNES, an NES emulator for Linux, has been updated to version 0.74J. The homepage is in Japanese (as is the emulator!) but EmuHQ has a copy of what's new:
You can download InfoNES from the InfoNES homepage.
14:11 - VirtuaNES v.016 - Airety
VirtuaNES is a Nintendo emulator for Windows. The homepage is in Japanese, so I have absolutely no clue what's new. You can download the English version of the emulator here.
14:07 - Raine32 Release coming soon - Airety

cingb, a Gameboy/Gameboy Color (not Gameboy Advance) emulator for Linux, Solaris, and MS-DOS, has been updated to version 0.26A. The only major improvement is sound quality. You can download cingb from it's homepage, however, the MS-DOS version has not been updated since v0.22A.

1:18 - A New Day Dawning - Jandar
As you may have noticed by now, we have officially moved to a new home base on the Internet. Our new address is http://sgc.jandar.net/, and with good fortune we shall here forever remain (until we get that sgc.com domain name ^_^). But yes, we have been removed from jandar.net due to our lack of profitability but fortunately our home here is practically prepared to go.
Since the site's formation more than three years ago we have seen four different web hosts. SGC originated within the free web space provided by my ISP (2MB worth) and rather quickly outgrew it. For a short while we tried to squeeze into that space, limiting the site in a lot of ways, but sooner or later we had to leave. From there we found a home with Emuclassics (Then known as emulnews.com). They were a wonderful host, although they were running on Windows NT and had some rather significant security problems. The real reason that we left emulnews (emuclassics) was because Emulation World offered a far better web host than any other options that existed at the time. They required us to post fewer ad banners on our site, the stats on their servers were (I must say) impressive and they had a lightning fast connection that boosted the speed of the SGC site substantially. Truth be told, I have many a wonderful thing to say about the hosting Emulation World provided to us over the past few years. Their professionalism and service were astounding, they worked very hard with us to make the site everything that it aspired to be, and their stats still are truly impressive. Of course I have always listed emulation as a hobby, not a career choice, and thus have never looked to SGC as a profitable entity. Apparently, however, my view is not shared. Popup ads, from what I hear, provide 20x the profit of normal ad banners, a fact that I was introduced to recently. When I began to see popup windows upon visiting SGC I became fairly defiant. We stopped being profitable, and thus we were extinguished. Fortunately, jandar.net is virtually ready to run with what we have presently.
SGC has now moved to it's present location at http://sgc.jandar.net/. Currently the news, translations archive, communication center, and other various sections are up and ready to go. We were required to sacrifice a substantial amount of bandwidth in favor of the freedom that our own server provides, so we may not be able to provide as much in the way of file downloads these days. The emulator's archive is currently down, but will be returning shortly. The binary downloads may not be included any longer, but information, ratings, a homepage link, as well as update news will still be available as always. The Development section is still in the birthing phase, and may not be available for a week or more. This will include all of the SGC sections devoted to ROM hacking and/or ROM development. Here you will find ROM hacking documents, utilities and table files, as well as any other information that we can find or derive. Please excuse our haste, the site on jandar.net is being removed on Wednesday..and so we make haste but take heed.

7:14 - Reaffirmation - Jandar
Things may appear slow-going, but trust me, we are hard at work behind the scenes.

18:23 - Swedish translations - Scotcher
The swedish translations archive is updated. There are two new, completed translations: Mega Man X 3 (SNES) och Dragon Warrior 1 (NES). I've changed some other stuff in the archive as well.
