8:55 - z26 Release - Jandar
Version 1.47 of z26, an Atari 2600 emulator for DOS, has been released, and can be downloaded from our (incomplete) Windows emulators archive. The latest version includes the following alteration:

• Added support for Thwoker and a new version of Video Life.

11:14 - SQL Server Relocation - Jandar
I just moved the SQL server to a new location (exactly one flight of stairs from its original location). But basically that means the translations and emulators archives were unavailable for about 4 minutes. Just thought I would let you know that =)

9:04 - Xmame Release - Jandar
Breaking out of Yoinks Domain =)
A new version of Xmame, 0.53.1, was released a few days back and can be downloaded from the Xmame homepage. This version does not include Xmess, only Xmame. Here's what's new in this version:

• Everything from MAME 0.53 except for what was missing before.
• GLmame now supports LinuxPPC. (Sven Goethel)
• Fixed a problem that could cause an xmame.xgl build to fail when esound is enabled.
• Fixed a bug in src/unix/unix.mak that caused builds using the asm 68k core to fail.
• QNX Neutrino/Photon updates: Added extended keyboard support; support for a wider range of sound cards; swapfile support. (Travis Coady; credit also goes to someone whose name I lost. Sorry!)
• Fixed a bug in contrib/porting/prep-new-mess that caused fix-comments to erroneously run on src/unix when processing .h files; made other cleanups in this script and prep-new-mame. (Christopher Stone).

19:47 - Dark Half - SirYoink
Klepto Software, the world's greatest translation group^, has released an updated version of the Dark Half snes translation. Current status of the patch is roughly 25%. Go the the website to see what's new. You can download the patch there or from our english translations archive.

14:22 - GeoMAME again! - SirYoink
The Mac port of GeoMAME has been updated to be version .53. Amongst other changes, the combo system is no longer broken.

23:05 - GeoMAME updated! - SirYoink
GeoMAME, a Neo-Geo emulator for MacOS, has been updated to version 0.37b14d. Raster effects should run faster in this new version. Combo support seems to be broken in this release, but the author says it will be fixed in the next one.

17:14 - Dragon Quest VI Yummy Goodness - SirYoink
NoPrgress has released a 90% complete english patch for Dragon Quest VI. This patch translates all of the story from beginning to end, with the possible exception of a few sidequest or variations in plot. What are you waiting for? Download it and start playing now!

17:04 - Wonder Project J Bugfix - SirYoink
Wakdhacks has released bugfix version 1.03 of their Wonder Project J english translation. Apparently, there were a few grammatical errors and the size of the rom prevented snes9x from loading it.

1:07 - Gens Windows Release - Jandar
Version 1.0 of Gens, a Genesis emulator that is primarily for Windows, has been released. I've put it on our Windows Genesis emulators page. Yes, that section isn't really "public" yet, but anybody with half a mind can find their way to it anyway. Just don't expect the Windows emulator archive to be complete yet. Also you can download this version from the Gens homepage. Here's what's new:

• Stretch option added (not available with all rendering mode).
• PAT files automatically saved.
• Kaillera client version updated to 0.84a
• 16/15 bits mode now auto-detected (no more choice in menu).
• 25% scanline render has been modified (equal to a 75% scanline in the old way).
• Sprite masking fixed (thanks Charles Mc Donald).
• Sprite table update fixed (thanks Charles Mc Donald).
• Sprite limit fixed.
• Fixed a bug in the 68000 Starscream core (bit-shift instructions).
• 68000 interruption processing enterely rewritten.
• H counter calculation modified.
• V counter fixed.
• VDP status flag fixed.
• Z80 interrupt timing modified (fix some sound problem).
• Window bug added in Gens 0.99 fixed.
• Screen shot respect the game resolution (no more useless blank line).

16:40 - FCE Ultra Releases - Jandar
The Windows and Linux ports of FCE Ultra, an NES emulator, have been updated to version 0.62r2. These latest versions can be currently downloaded from the FCE Ultra homepage. Release 2 fixes a bug that "causes incorrect Game Genie emulation." Version 0.62r1 was released a day earlier and featured the following improvements:

• Added support for the Famicom Disk System's extra sound channel.
• Updated the version of Tatsuyuki Satoh's OPL2 emulator used in FCE Ultra from .36f to .37a. The sound quality in "Lagrange Point" seems to have improved.
• Added support for iNES mapper 242(used by "Wai Xing Zhan Shi").
• Fixed a network play bug that could cause desynchronizations if more than one network play session occured since FCE Ultra was started. This bug only showed up on the Windows port, though.
• Increased the volume of the noise and triangle sound channels.
• Fixed a save state loading bug.
• Fixed a small memory leak that was being caused by the VRC7 state loading code.
• Fixed a bug that could cause FCE Ultra to crash if a virtual disk was being read and the user ejected the virtual disk.
• Various minor bug fixes/code cleanups.

15:48 - RockNES updated! - SirYoink
The MacOS port of RockNES has been updated to version 1.952. This new release supports Game Genie codes and mapper #44.

1:31 - Mac Emulators Archive - Jandar
Thanks to the hard work of SirYoink, we have the archive of Mac based emulators practically complete. I've added this section to the site map which you see to your left. More news as it develops.

0:32 - Atari 800: MacOS updated - SirYoink
The MacOS port of Atari 800 has been updated to version 1.07. You can get this new release at the Atari 800 homepage. It now comes in both classic and carbon flavors.

17:31 - Wonder Project J! Wh00t! - SirYoink
WakdHacks has released a complete translation patch for the snes title Wonder Project J. For those who don't know, Wonder Project J is a kind of sim game where you teach an android to act more human. It's also one of those Über-1337 Enix games that takes a lot of time and patience to translate, so cudos to WakdHacks for finishing this. Right now, the patch is only available on the WakdHacks website. Maybe Yandar can upload it when he gets back.

9:28 - My Vacation Time - Jandar
I will be taking a bit of a break between now and Monday, going down to West Virginia for a family reunion, and in the process not being able to work on SGC =(Everything around here script and server-wise should be set and shouldn't cause any trouble. Everything should go over without a hitch, and I might just open up the almost finish DOS portion of the Emulator archive before I go =)

23:24 - Neugier SNES translation - SirYoink
Haelethes áwendende has released version 1.0 of a translation for the SNES game Neugier. From what I understand, this game is a cross between an action game and an rpg. Download the translation patch here.

1:00 - RockNES Releases - Jandar
The DOS version of RockNES, an NES emulator, was updated to version 1.952 just a day after the previous release of version 1.950. According to the author, it fixes "the quit-to-OS joypad button." The Windows port was also updated this time, as it is brought up to version 2.0 beta 3. Mentioned is the "addition of a fast SuperEAGLE/2xSai." Currently Fx3 is uncertain whether Alexandre will be continuing this Windows port. More information and downloads of the emulator are available on the RockNES homepage.
