17:46 - iMac Uploading Saves the Day! - SirYoink
RockNES is up. I've uploaded it, but I'm still frightened by how Jandar found it first. Anyways, this emulator is the first serious competition for iNES on the Mac, and has the following features:

12:35 - RockNES MacOS port - Jandar
Richard Bannister has ported RockNES to MacOS. I seem to be having some trouble getting the file uploaded here locally, so for the time being you can find the MacOS port of RockNES on Richard Bannister's site. I will add it to our NES emulators section as soon as I possibly can.

23:29 - BeOS Emulation Site Troubles - Jandar
An emulation site dedicated to emulators for BeOS, BeEmulated has made an announcement regarding the site's future. The creator of the site no longer has the time to devote to the site and it may be taken over by another individual. I certainly hope that this is the case, as opposed to watching the site die.. I owe thanks to BeEmulated, from which I recieved information on many emulators that went into our BeOS emulators section.

23:24 - G-NES Release - Jandar
Version 0.42 of G-NES, an NES emulator for Windows, has been released, and I've added it to our NES emulators section. Both English and Japanese versions have been released, but I can't seem to find a list of updates in English, so we'll have to leave it at that I'm afraid. Thanks to EmuHQ for the news.

15:49 - Translation News and Stuff - Airety
Good God, this is going to take a year.

Ok, now since I don't know whats up with the person who maintains our English translations section, I think we need someone for that. I don't like having to take notes when I go to Whirlpool because I'll have to post about the stuff. We need someone who's hip, and cool, and hip with the English translation scene. Being Hip is a major plus. E-mail Jandar about it because whenever I hire people it takes four years for them to be added :P

0:31 - RockNES Release(s) - Jandar
The RockNES emulator has seen quite a few releases recently, and they all seem to have centered around attempts at fixing trainer support. It appears they have finally accomplished the mission, however, and version 1.303 is now available from our NES emulators section. Apparently trainer support is now fixed with certainty. Thanks to EmuHQ for the news.

19:52 - Comic Strip - Plightro
I have started a comic strip tackling some of the touchy issues of emulation, emulator writing, translating, and being an emulation webmaster. My first comic has to do with the incredible irony in "The Emulation Economy". Please read it, and give me feedback on the message board. Let us know what you think.

This comic strip will not necessarily be updated on a scheduled basis.

12:29 - Tales of Phantasia - SirYoink

DeJap has announced that they are teaming with various other groups and will not only be releasing an english patch, but will also be jointly producing patches in Spanish, French, Swedish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Danish and Russian!

Looks like I'll get to play with SGC's whole translation archive when this one gets a release.

12:25 - WinX68k Release - Jandar
A new version of this rapidly improving emulator for the X68000 system has been released, and I've added version 0.50 to our X68000 emulators section. I don't really know much about this emulator, but apparently it is getting quite good with all these improvements being made regularly. It may not yet be as good as Ex68, but it is getting there. Thanks to Vintage Gaming for the news.

1:45 - BeOS Emulators Added - Jandar
Well, it's late (or early), but we finally have a section of SGC dedicated to emulators for BeOS. At this time there are really very few emulators available for BeOS, but those that are out there are now available right here in our BeOS emulators section. Hopefully SGC will continue to grow and expand, and in doing so prove more useful to those are you who rely upon us for everything emulation. Thank you!

18:42 - MasterGear Release - Jandar
In another recent emulator release, Marat Fayzullin has released an updated version of his GG/SMS emulator MasterGear. So far only the FreeBSD and Windows ports have been updated, and the Windows port is commercial, requiring payment in order to acquire it. The FreeBSD version, however, is available for download from the MasterGear homepage. I will have the emulator uploaded locally at some point later today once I am home from work.

18:31 - Pasofami Release - Jandar
Version 1.4c of Pasofami, a Japanese NES emulator for Windows, has been released, and is currently available from the Pasofami homepage until I am home and able to upload it locally. I don't really know what is new in this release, as information regarding this emulator is in Japanese.

22:53 - WinSMS Plus News - Jandar
The homepage of the SMS Plus Windows port has been updated with some news of the status of the project. According to the post, the port will be taken over by Michael Teator, and the future of the project should include "an improved user interface, bug fixes as usual, and whatever features our users can think up.."

22:46 - Save State Editors - Jandar
I have been hard at work on the Save State Editors section today, and I believe I have brought it up to date with all the latest Save State editors from Che and Bastardly Productions. I have added almost a dozen new editors, as well as adding updated versions of several of the editors.

22:22 - SD3 German Translation - Jandar
G-trans has released a complete German translation of Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2) into the language of German. The latest version of this patch has been added to our German translations archive, and can also be downloaded directly here. Thanks go to Special Man (of G-trans) for emailing me about this release.

22:16 - Jnes News - Jandar
The Jnes homepage has been updated with assurance that the emulator is certainly not dead. Here is the official word from the site:

Hi, been a while since I updated, noticed a few people wondering if Jnes is dead. Since the last update, the project has been undergoing mostly rewrites and cleanups for quite a while, unfortunately while that was going on I have had other projects to work on so it kind of took a lower importance, but it's not dead. As far as releases go, I still haven't figured out what will happen, maybe I'll release a beta some time soon I don't know, a few things need work.

In addition to this, Jabo has released a image decoder for the game Killer Instinct. It's very basic at the moment, but if people like it we may see substantial improvements made to the program in the future.

12:44 - French BoF2 - Jandar
A French translation of Breath of Fire 2 has been released by the group Final Translations, the homepage of which I seem to have a bad address for, and reportedly this is a 100% translation. The latest patch can be found within our French translations archive, or downloaded right here. Thanks to Biglo, the SGC translations maintainer, for contacting me with the news in his period of being unable to update the site himself.

12:37 - G-NES Release - Jandar
Version 0.41 of G-NES, an NES emulator for Windows, has been released in both Japanese and English. The latest version of this emulator can be found in our NES emulators section. I don't know exactly what is new in this release as the list of updates appears to be available only in Japanese.

1:33 - SNES9X Update - SirYoink
In response to what myself and apparently several others reported about SNES9X's latest Mac release, John Stiles, who ported SNES9X to the Mac, had this to say on the emulator's homepage:
"Many users have written in to tell me about sound problems with the current version of SNES9X. This bug will be fixed in the next update; in the meantime, it can usually be solved by enabling virtual memory. Also, the next version of SNES9X will be able to work natively under Mac OS X Public Beta (I still haven't received my copy yet)."

Version 2.14 of EX68, an x68000 emulator for Windows, has been released, and I've added it to our X68000 emulators section. I don't really know what's new in this release, as all information regarding this emulator is in Japanese (as always ^_^). Also, the homepage of this emulator seems to have slightly changed it's address since its last release. The new address is http://www.ksky.ne.jp/~yamama/emul/

10:53 - CMNES Release - Jandar
Version 0.12 of CMNES was released recently, and I've added it to our NES emulators section. Two versions are available. The A version uses the emulator's old graphics mode and runs faster, while the B Version uses the newer graphics mode, but pays for it in speed.

16:37 - New Table File - PKT Paladin
I added a new table file for possibly one of the best NES RPGs ever. It was never released in the U.S. because some idiot forgot to send it over. However, it was officially translated by Nintendo and auctioned off (maybe on Ebay but I don't know for sure). Neo Demiforce bought the officially translated copy from the winner for a large sum of money (according to their web site) and dumped it. Afterwards, after finding a few bugs, they cracked the ROM so that it was playable in NES emulators, and not constantly showing a message about it being an unauthorized copy of the ROM.

This ROM is Earthbound Zero (A.K.A. Mother in Japan), and it is available for download in the Table File Archive.

22:39 - DeJap Website Back Online - SirYoink
DeJap's website, http://www.zsnes.com/dejap is back online with a new layout. They have made the leaked beta available for download, as well as some of the old patches for Dragon Quest VI. They are apparently working on Bastard! now, as well. Keep in mind that these are older patches, though, and are not representetive of recent work or the finished product.

13:17 - EX68 Release - Jandar
It's been a busy day for emulator releases, and this next one is an updated version of EX68, which is an X68000 emulator for Windows. 10:54 - SNEeSe Release - Jandar
Version 0.46 of SNEeSe, an SNES emulator for DOS, has been released, along with it's Source Code. Here's what's new in this latest release:

17:36 - New Table File - PKT Paladin
I made a new table file for the Gameboy Color ROM Crystalis. The table was a pain to make because there are so many letters in it. Because thingy does not support these letters, the symbol next to the letter is that which is supposed to be above it. For example, ñ would look lik n~ while editting the ROM. I apologize for this inconvenience, but I can't help it because I didn't write thingy. This table along with many others can be downloaded at the table files archive.

16:14 - New swedish translation! - Scotcher

20:23 - MAME Release - Jandar
Version 0.37 beta 7 of MAME has been released. For those of us in the realm of the unknowing, MAME is a very popular multi-arcade emulator that has pretty well swallowed up the world of arcade emulation. The latest version of this emulator can be found on the MAME homepage. This release adds support for about 15 additional games, and many PlayChoice-10 games. Also, countless other changes have been made, a list of which can be found on the MAME "what's new" page.

21:07 - SNES9X Mac updated? - SirYoink
SNES9X for the Mac has been updated to version 1.30 . This new version alledgedly has MacOS X compatability and requires CarbonLib. However upon testing it, the emulator runs slowly and produces static in the sound. You can go to emulation.net to download it and test it. I'll upload it here when I am sure it works. Email me if you are able to make it work correctly. Send any bug reports to John Stiles on emulation.net.

21:02 - Victoly Boy Alpha 4 - SirYoink
Derek Smith has made the first public release of his gameboy emulator. This Mac emulator has descent compatability and is worth a download.

18:00 - ZSNES 1.000 - Y Dienyddiwr Da
Yes, it Appears that we have ZSNES 1.000, which, can be viewed as pleasant short term news, But zsKnight has also announced that he shall no longer code for ZSNES, due to a pursuit of a career and education.
Click here to read the full Post at ZSNES.com

An Enourmous amount of things have been added, which probably would be best read yourself in the readme.txt.
Among them is the much anticipated C4 Emulation. Due mind that zsKnight notes, that just because it is 1.000, doesn't mean it emulates the SNES perfectly.

You can Download ZSNES 1.000 from the MS-DOS SNES Emulators Page

Thanks to satsu for the speedy news
