Cart List
Cart List will give you the name of just about any game. Just put the program in the directory with the rom files, and run it to compile a list of the names.

In most respects, this program acts much like Snowbro's Tile Layer, for MS-DOS. It prompts you for two ROMs to open, much like TLayer, so you can do some copying of tiles. I think my clipboard is bigger than Tile Layer's (large enough to a title screen), and it has gridlines so that you can see what the hell it is your doing.

Duper
Duper can convert roms to a variety of formats, create a list of roms based on information found within the rom file, and find duplicate roms, it can also do some header editing.

Find-Dup will search through a directory and locate any duplicate files. This is very helpful with roms to see if you have duplicate roms with different file names.

Naga is a sprite editor for Snes and Nes game roms. Naga can do 1st, 2nd and 4th bitplane editing on both Nes and Snes roms. I like using Naga for sprite editing, even with all the other sprite editors available, I find Naga to be the best.

Romedit is a hex editor. But what separates it from other hex editors is that it uses 8x8 tiles to display the file, and these tiles can be manipulated through special .tbl files. This makes hacking games such as Final Fantasy an easier chore.

Tile Layer is a wonderful utility that allows two roms to be loaded at the same time, and tiles to be copied between the two. This is a small utility that does exactly what it is supposed to do, and does it very well. It has mixed support for Gameboy, NES, SNES, SMS, and Virtual Boy games. It's a wonderful program!
